ABOUT MATTHEW PIERPOINT

I have 19 years of diversified civil engineering experience in airport and highway design, and more recently on supporting clients with the challenges associated with developing a sustainable world. My projects have included landside and airside improvements, runways, taxiways, aprons, ramp planning, terminal developments, terminal planning, forecourts, master planning, and airport site selection. Additionally, my experience has included highways, junction design, traffic signals, traffic modeling, pedestrian modeling, surface access strategies, and cycle facility provision. More recently I have been involved in supporting clients with their journey to Net Carbon Zero and beyond, be that energy management, embodied carbon, or water management. I have lived and worked in numerous countries around the world including, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Hong Kong (SAR) China, and India.I have gained a wide range of skills over the past 19 years; in particular experience in airfield pavement design, both rigid and flexible, airfield geometric design, apron/ramp design, stand layout design, fixed ground power and pre-conditioned air supply, passenger loading bridge design and specification, construction phasing, construction planning, program management, risk, and cost planning. I have also developed a number of airport planning skills including; airport master planning, apron planning, stand planning, airport facilities planning, and terminal planning. In addition I have developed skills in forecourt design, highway geometric design, highway pavement design, network capacity modeling, and transportation planning.Specialties: BIM (workflows, data exchange, Civil 3D, and Navisworks), Airports, Airport Planning, Geometric Design, Passenger Boarding Bridge / Aircraft Loading Bridge planning/design, stand services, and Terminal Planning
