ABOUT MATTHEW OTTINGER

I started my journey in healthcare after graduating from Wilkes University in 2011. I worked inpatient psychiatry at several facilities, including Blue Mountain Health System and Cooper University Healthcare, as a registered nurse on both adult and older adult psychiatric units. I was able to gain experience in the management of acute psychiatric emergencies while working in various emergency departments in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania. While “climbing the ladder” I landed in several management roles, providing nurse leadership on inpatient psychiatric units. Wanting to make a direct and positive impact on my patients, I decided to further my education at Drexel University and become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Since graduation, I have worked as an outpatient provider who treats patients throughout the lifespan with mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders. I have been further blessed with the opportunity to give back and provide educational services to masters level students at Drexel University via a clinical adjunct faculty position.
