About Matthew Okorie

I’m currently pursuing a B.S. in Engineering Science at The College of New Jersey, with a mechanical concentration focused on Engineering Management. As an undergraduate student-athlete and NCAA Division basketball player, I bring a unique blend of technical skill, leadership, and teamwork to every opportunity. I have four years of experience in highly collaborative environments, including serving as a two-year captain of TCNJ’s collegiate basketball team. During my time as captain, I led the team to a 2024 NJAC Conference Championship and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2024 and 2025. Beyond athletics, I’ve held diverse roles that have sharpened my communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. My professional experience includes working as a Sales Representative at Cutco, an Office Clerk at Soteria HHA, and a Direct Support Professional at Self-Care Enterprises. These positions have strengthened my ability to adapt, lead with empathy, and contribute meaningfully to both team and client-focused environments. I pride myself on being a positive influence, a strong communicator, and a driven problem solver—skills I apply both on the court and in professional settings.
