About Matthew Mullen
Dr. Matthew Mullen is a human rights and peace practitioner. He has more than 15 years of field experience working in places like Myanmar, North Korea, Vietnam, the Deep-South of Thailand, Ethiopia, and many other contexts. Mullen specializes in community resiliency, community-led solutions, and human rights-based approaches. Shortly after the UNGPs was unanimously endorsed in 2011, Mullen became dedicated to the field of business and human rights. He is recognized as a global expert on the UNGPs and has been commissioned by the UN, governments, large foundations, and business enterprises of all sizes. Mullen has leveraged his field experience to make the UNGPs meaningful in real-world circumstances. He saw a need for human rights practitioners in the field of business and human rights and established A30/ to bridge the gap.
