Matthew is a Water Resources Engineer and Regulatory Specialist with a unique mix of applied knowledge in water resources engineering complemented with experience in all aspects of large scale environmental approvals and reviews. Matthew applies his strong understanding of federal, provincial, territorial and first nation environmental governance frameworks to deliver effective policy and regulatory solutions for a diverse mix of clients. Matthew specializes in working with mining and large infrastructure projects in Northern Canada that operate within the co-management environmental regulatory frameworks of that region. Matthew is a stakeholder engagement specialist with strong facilitation and communication skills, constructive working relationships with key regulators, indigenous governments and stakeholders across Northern Canada and extensive experience working with Indigenous Knowledge and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit. Matthew is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple jurisdictions and has managed a diverse mix water resource engineering projects across Canada to deliver specialized results. Matthew focuses on drainage design, hydrologic/hydraulic modelling, natural channel design, fisheries habitat assessment, design and installation, bank stabilization, dam safety, flood mapping, flood management and policy and watercourse restoration projects across Canada. He has successfully developed and managed a wide variety of environmental monitoring programs completing the fieldwork, data processing, reporting, submission and approval for numerous aquatic effects, sediment and erosion, fisheries, mercury in fish flesh and sediment, thermal effects, wildlife and surface & groundwater quality and quantity monitoring programs
