I photograph people and places for advertising, editorial, and corporate clients. My goal is to make a connection and tell the story of who, where and why. Matthew Mahon likes taking pictures, he has been doing so professionally since He hails from Oakhurst, New Jersey and is now based in Austin, Texas. He has been awarded Gold Addy Photography 2006, Silver Addy Promotion 2006, and chosen for Communication Arts Interactive Annual 2006, Lürzer\'s Archive Magazine 2008. Matthew was also a Phoot Camp attendee 2011, 2012, 2014 Matthew\'s personal project, UNDER / AUSTIN: Took an honest look at women using the internet to work independently in the sex industry in Austin, Texas. He photographed 72 women over an 18 month period during 20••••13. The images were curated by Misty Keasler and Brian Gibb and debuted at The Public Trust Gallery in Dallas, Texas April-June 2014. The most intriguing and fascinating aspect of this body of work is the level of intimacy that Matthew has with his subjects, a residual affection that lingers from his first sexual experience, and that the women were given no direction. They were photographed doing what they wanted to do, projecting themselves as they would like to be seen. The result is a series of striking images that invoke humor, camp, irony, and sorrow. Matthew\'s other interests include remodeling homes, salvage shops, researching World War II, bicycle racing, and admiring his dog Buddy and his Pygmy Goats named Cheese, Berger and Weldon. But his favorite activity is entertaining friends and family at Old Stick Ranch, his home in Leander, Texas.
