ABOUT MATTHEW LOGAN

I’m a dedicated battery scientist with a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a robust track record of driving innovation in electrochemical energy storage. My career spans the full spectrum of battery research—from fundamental materials synthesis and advanced characterization to productization and process optimization.As a Staff Battery Scientist at Amprius Technologies, I lead initiatives that transform cutting-edge silicon-based anode technology into market-ready products. I specialize in streamlining development cycles, optimizing process parameters using DOE methodologies, and achieving significant cost reductions while enhancing performance and reliability. My work extends cycle life through innovative electrolyte optimization and cell design and accelerates time-to-market through effective cross-functional collaboration.Previously, I held key roles at Enovix and Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where I spearheaded advanced R&D projects, developed next-generation testing systems, and mentored multidisciplinary teams. With a holistic understanding of battery components—from synthesis and cell design to assembly and failure analysis—I have also contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and hold several patents that underscore my commitment to technological excellence.I’m passionate about pushing the boundaries of energy storage technology to create sustainable, high-performance solutions that power the innovations of tomorrow.
