About Matthew Lobe

A little bit about me, I was born in Bremerton, WA and move to the Lake Tapps area in grade school. I graduated from Auburn Riverside HS in 2007 and continued my education at Central Washington University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. I started in the program after my dad had a couple of serious heart attacks. It was then that I found my calling, wanting to help people become healthier prior to such events and help those who suffered through a traumatic experience recover. Baseball and soccer were my life growing up, however, in college I became very involved with rugby. We had a successful team and program consistently ranking in the top 10 NCAA schools in the nation but what I enjoyed most was giving back to the community. I helped start and coach a youth rugby team in Yakima while still in college, working and playing myself. It was lots of work but totally worth it to be a positive influence in young people’s lives. When I graduated from Central in the spring of 2012, I moved back to Lake Tapps.The medical field is what interested me, specifically cardiac rehab, and I was searching for like positions. After being unsuccessful finding my ideal job, I fell into becoming a personal trainer at a local gym. I really enjoyed it but it wasn\'t something that could see me doing forever and it was also tough to make ends meet. I left the gym after a year chasing the larger paycheck and began as a dispatcher for a trucking company where I stayed for three years before becoming a healthcare recruiter last year. Meanwhile in my spare time, I transitioned from playing rugby with a local rugby club because of too many concussions (I can\'t remember how many) into coaching. I really enjoy being involved with my community and being a bit of an older brother figure for some of the younger lads.
