I am head of our Employment practice in Leeds and global head of Squire Patton Boggs’ Retail Industry Group, which involves co-oridnating lawyers across different practice groups and countries to provide a co-ordinated approach to the problems retailers encounter. I trained and qualified as a trade union lawyer and have the unusual experience of both Claimant and Respondent work. I regularly advise clients on TUPE and its implications and and really appreciate the commercial reality in which businesses operate. I also work with unionised businesses and deal with industrial action and disputes.

I head our Leeds Employment practice, where we act for local, national and international clients. I am global head of Squire Patton Boggs’ Retail Industry Group, which involves providing a co-ordinated approach to the problems retailers encounter. See link below to our Retail page. I am experienced in all areas of employment law. I deal with restructuring and large scale changes, complex disciplinary matters, grievances, TUPE, executive leavers and joiners, together with industrial relations where I support clients in their dealings with trade unions. I am recognised in Legal 500 for my \"commercial minded\" advice. As an employment expert, I have appeared on BBC Radio 4 “Today” and Radio 5 “Wake up to Money” and in the press. Prior to being a lawyer, I worked in publishing and trained and worked as a trade union lawyer. I work closely with the Retail Trust and was a past non-executive director of retailCURe, the credit union for retail employees.
