About Matthew Kurtz

Rotorcraft Helicopter CFI/II, UAV Operator & InstructorI have spent more than a decade in and around aviation, and have been operating unmanned aircraft since 2008. My life\'s passion has been all things that fly. I am proficient in flying airplanes, helicopters, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. I served eight years with the United States Army, with two tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. My assignments while in the military focused on field operations, intelligence collection, customer service, unmanned aircraft and leadership. I left the Army promotable to Staff Sergeant. After my time in the Army, I trained to become a helicopter flight instructor, and then worked for a defense contractor flying unmanned aircraft overseas.When I find some free time to myself I enjoy flying RC planes, computer programming and riding my motorcycle. But most of my free time right now is spent being a daddy to my four kids.Note on Listed Experiences: I have a few gaps on my job history on LinkedIn.
