ABOUT MATTHEW JOHNSON
After several years of serving as a Firefighter/EMT, I made a career pivot and returned to school to pursue a degree in Information Technology. During college, I was introduced to ethical hacking — and it immediately clicked. The problem-solving, creativity, and mission-driven nature of cybersecurity reminded me of what I loved most about public service: protecting others.Since then, I’ve become deeply passionate about offensive security and penetration testing. I’ve pursued hands-on experience, earned certifications like the CRTO (Certified Red Team Operator) and PJPT (Practical Junior Penetration Tester), and now work professionally as an IT Specialist, where I continue to build my technical foundation.I’m actively working toward transitioning into a dedicated penetration tester role, where I can apply my skills, certifications, and relentless curiosity to help organizations identify and remediate security risks before attackers can exploit them. Key Interests:• Ethical Hacking & Red Team Operations• Active Directory & Windows Exploitation• OSINT & Web App Testing• Scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)Let’s connect — especially if you\'re in the cybersecurity field or have advice for someone making the jump into offensive security!
