ABOUT MATTHEW HEWSON
I am a General Counsel with experience guiding organizations through complex legal, regulatory, and strategic challenges with a few forays into direct operational responsibilities. My career has spanned private practice, public company leadership and now serving as General Counsel for The Driving Force Group of Companies.I am passionate about precision and clarity; in law, business and life. I get to practice this at work, coaching young athletes ski racing, and working on my Professional Barbell Coach certification. And explaining things to my 6 year-old son.Professionally I am interested in the intersection of law, strategy and operations. More broadly, incentives, human behaviour and how that is expressed in personal finance. I do a lot of stream of consciousness posts here. It was that or a podcast co-hosted by my wife called \"A Passionate Conversation \"at\" Liann during Morning Coffee.\"Outside the office I dive deep into whatever I am passionate about at the time; those interests have ranged from bicycle racing to strength training and now becoming a Cowboy. I am passionate about youth sports, as a coach and through my involvement as a Director of Sport Central. Sports (any challenging pursuit) are a microcosm of life where we learn to try, win and fail and try again.
