Matt Harmon is a highly experienced insurance claims professional with over 30 years in the industry. Currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Claims for The MEMIC Group, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. Since 2015, he has been overseeing claim-related activities across 40+ jurisdictions, ensuring excellence in service delivery.Matt\'s insurance career began in 1994 after graduating from the University of Maine with a degree in Business Administration. He joined MEMIC\'s claim department and excelled in various claim handling assignments, earning him a promotion to Regional Claim Manager in 2002.Throughout his tenure at MEMIC, Matt continued to progress in his career, taking on increasing levels of responsibility in Claim Department oversight. In recognition of his significant contributions, he was promoted to the role of Senior Vice President of Claims in 2015.Beyond his professional achievements, Matt actively engages in his community. Since 2016, he has served on the board of directors for the American Red Cross of Southern Maine, currently holding the position of Board Vice Chair. He is also deeply involved with Boots2Roots, an organization focused on preparing active-duty military members for a successful transition to the Maine workforce. Matt has been serving on the board of directors since 2019 and currently holds the position of Board Chair.Matt completed the Leadership Maine program in 2019, further refining his leadership skills, and recently obtained a Master\'s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine Graduate School of Business in 2022.In his current position at MEMIC, Matt plays a critical role in overseeing the company\'s largest department and managing workers\' compensation claim activity across the country. He also spearheads digital transformation initiatives, including work leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence tools to enhance claim processes and outcomes.
