About Matthew Hanson
Colonel (Dr.) Matt Hanson is the Chief Medical Officer and Deputy to the Commander, Air Force Medical Readiness Command (MRC)-Bravo and Director, Defense Health Network (DHN)-Continental. Once fully capable, MRC-Bravo will command over active duty medics at 40 Air Force and Space Force installations in Europe and the Continental United States. The MRC will execute health and readiness programs for supported forces and missions, and organize, train, and equip medical personnel for home station response and expeditionary medicine. DHN-Continental operates 26 Army and Air Force hospitals and clinics serving over DoD and VA beneficiaries. The DHN executes authority, direction, and control over a $1.1 billion budget to provide quality medical services and education in support of DOD missions, forces, and families. Colonel Hanson is a graduate of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, where he earned a Doctor of Medicine degree. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Certified Physician Executive. Colonel Hanson has served in command, staff and clinical positions in the garrison, headquarters and operational environments. Prior to his current position, he was the Command Surgeon at Air Force Special Operations Command.
