About Matthew Godfrey
Graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi (BA, M.Ed) and The University of Texas at Austin (MA) advancing through the Texas Creative Sequence. I am a nationally certified dementia practitioner and obtaining trauma-informed teacher certification as a part of the Prison Yoga Project. My professional background began fostering student development at the collegiate level. I went on to work in promotion, art direction, design and marketing for a variety of brands and services. I currently oversee a residential memory care community for adults living with cognitive adaptations including dementia and Alzheimer’s. My aim is to enhance and maintain a quality of life for residents by providing dignity, individual choice and creating moments of joy. In my spare time I doodle, read and have adventures with my two sons. I enjoy pop culture, travel, exercise, telling stories and performing in community theater.
