ABOUT MATTHEW G. MARIN CURBELO

I am a security leader with 7+ years of progressive experience overseeing large-scale physical security, emergency response, and high-volume guest-facing operations at the Disneyland Resort. My background includes supervising teams of 15–100+, coordinating complex multi-incident environments, supporting investigations, and partnering with law enforcement, EOC personnel, and cross-functional business leaders.In my management role, I led daily security operations across theme parks, hotels, screening facilities, backstage environments, and high-risk public areas—navigating situations ranging from medical emergencies and behavioral crises to found weapons, suspicious persons, VIP/celebrity visits, and multi-agency responses. I developed a reputation for high standards, clear communication, and delivering leadership-ready incident documentation and investigative packets.My experience also includes tabletop emergency-prep exercises, perimeter and access operational support for major construction projects (Galaxy’s Edge, Avengers Campus, Toontown), training and developing officers across BSIS-aligned curriculum, and strengthening operational consistency through coaching, progressive accountability, and a people-first leadership approach.I hold a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, which supports my focus on team development, organizational effectiveness, and leadership under pressure. Across all roles, I\'ve focused on integrity, service excellence, and the belief that leadership begins with doing the right thing—even when no one is watching.I am now pursuing opportunities in corporate physical security, security management, production security, emergency operations, and protective/security leadership roles where I can bring my operational depth, risk awareness, and calm presence in high-stakes environments.
