ABOUT MATTHEW FLETCHER

I provide longevity and mortality advice to pension schemes and insurance sector clients, helping to price, manage and mitigate longevity risk.My roles within Aon, Hymans Robertson / Club Vita and Towers Watson have all involved managing the development and delivery of mortality and demographic models, including predictive postcode mortality models, stochastic mortality projections and experience analysis models. At Towers Watson, I also provided Scheme Actuary and corporate advice to a wide range of pension schemes.Within the actuarial profession, I chair the Mortality & Morbidity Research Committee (MRSC) and am the past chair (20••••24) of the Continuous Mortality Investigation\'s Self Administered Pension Scheme (SAPS) Mortality Committee, which ensures that subscribers receive timely and considered analysis of mortality base table. I was a founder member of the COVID-19 Actuaries Response Group which provided impartial and timely advice on the COVID-19 crisis through the pandemic.Mortality and longevity is a specialised area, and I pride myself in being able to communicate technical content simply and directly to any audience. I have developed a strong interest in data visualisation techniques, which I believe is key to communicating and increasing understanding of longevity.
