I’m an experienced Senior Manager working in our Risk Assurance Practice in the Midlands, based in our Birmingham Office. Having joined our team in 2003 I have a long standing track record on, and passion for, working closely with our public services.My focus is on providing effective, robust assurance and constructive advice to my clients, as part of my role leading internal audit services, helping to solve their most significant problems – ranging from improving internal controls and developing robust governance arrangements to assisting their response to a range of strategic and emerging risks. My wider experience includes the development and assessment of business cases, capital project and programme management of complex programmes and leading sensitive investigations.My client experience includes working closely with complex organisations, including high profile Universities and the HE sector generally, a number of NHS Trusts and commissioners, central government NDPBs and a range of local government bodies - including city, county and district councils as well as combined authorities. My objectives when working with our clients are to prioritise listening carefully, understand their objectives and work closely with key stakeholders to create value. I’m experienced working at Board and Audit Committee level.I’ve been a career coach for over 10 years with responsibility for the welfare and development of a range of different colleagues, and have been a group leader overseeing a team of 50 colleagues. I encourage people to be open for different experiences and focus on their personal development. Seeing people I’ve worked with closely develop, improve and progress their careers has been one of the most satisfying aspects of my role.
