About Matthew Curnutte

Matthew Curnutte is the CAD Designer within the design team at Sally Dark Rides. He has worked closely with other teams within Sally Dark Rides and project clients to create the layout and technical design drawings for dark rides such as “Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare” at Kings Island.Matthew has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Northridge. Growing up in Southern California, Matthew frequently visited theme parks and formed a passion for them at an early age. He began his themed entertainment career working in the 2021 season of Knott’s Scary Farm as a Guest Control Attendant, after which he moved into ride operations. He moved to Florida in 2022 to participate in the Disney College Program as a Hotel Concierge. Matthew now brings his experience in engineering, guest experience, operations, and customer service, along with his passion for theme parks & immersive storytelling, to Sally Dark Rides.Outside of Sally Dark Rides, Matthew is a pro cast member at the improv comedy club First Coast Comedy in Jacksonville, FL. He enjoys speaking with college students/clubs to share his story & advice to help usher in the next generation of themed entertainment designers. For fun, Matthew is always chasing after that next pinball high score and, of course, loves to visit theme parks!
