ABOUT MATTHEW CRANE

I am an authentic and integral Leader who leads by example in creating an enjoyable work experience for our people. I do this by developing an environment of open communication, harmony and a space to support individuals to grow and be successful. I have a commitment for continuous improvement to drive our business performance to be at the forefront of waste and resource management. With over 21 years experience in the waste, recycling, street cleansing and amenity horticulture sectors, working with over 22 local authorities across South East England and London. I have undertaken varying roles over this time, giving me a wide breadth of knowledge. I have supported operational, IT and compliance projects as well as delivering front line operations and strategic management.In addition I spent 5 years working in the commercial waste & recycling arena as a Senior Business Manager. Professionally I have a particular interest in change management and understanding the effectiveness of engagement with employees and how it effects organisational behaviour.I am currently the Regional Manager for Veolia at the Southwark Integrated Waste Management Facility PFI contract. I am responsible for all aspects of the PFI including the Materials Recovery Facility, Mechanical Biological Treatment plant, the Transfer Station, HWRC and waste and recycling collection services ensuring the effective and safe organisation of work and processes, whilst delivering services to maximum operational standards and efficiency. I am responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance of all company policies and procedures and any changes to regulatory acts, to achieve targeted level of operating income and customer service. As the Regional Manager I have a \"we are in this together\" attitude and ensure this culture is adopted by my team.
