About Matthew Chau
Currently a graduate student in the School of Management at Binghamton University, working towards a Master’s in Business Administration. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Management Information Systems and Business Analytics in May of 2025. I have held multiple positions on executive boards here at Binghamton, granting me a variety of skills that I can use to improve the environment around me. Leadership, teamwork, and mentorship are just three of the many skills that I was able to refine during my office terms. My dedication towards the Information Systems Club has seen me grow from an intern to the Vice President of Professional Activities to now, a senior advisor. Being able to give back to the new team of interns and board members is how I want to give back and allow the club to continue to flourish. I am an Eagle Scout with Troop 179 located in West Islip, New York. My time with the troop allowed me to explore many diverse areas that can help guide me for my future roles. Through the extensive merit badge system, I was able to get a glimpse on subjects like financial management, personal fitness, world interactions, and much more. Boy Scouts also showed me how important dedication is to success in life as it was a seven year journey. I was also able to understand how much community interaction was beneficial for your life as I have made numerous connections with those in that Scouting family. As I matured through the program, I learned how to become more of a leader to those around me. It also allowed me to understand the importance of partnerships and strong team chemistry. Completing tasks together achieved better results than working individually. This inspired me to pursue a career where I focus on leading others to success while positively impacting my community. With my choice of major and degree, I feel strongly about my ability to do so in the future.
