About Matthew C. Walker
Currently serving as the Capability Development lead to the Soldier Lethality CFT Director on matters concerning Army and Joint capability developments processes, operations, administration, office management, security, supply, and contractual requirements at Ft Benning, GA. Military service ended as a Command Sergeant Major with over 25 years of service in the Combat Arms arena. Served in FORSCOM, SOCOM, and TRADOC (Instructional and Command positions) Battalions, Brigades and Nominative positions. Over twenty years experience in how equipment and training is designed, tested, resourced, evaluated, and procured or executed, and relied on to make recommendations on what the Soldier needs in the future. As the Infantry School CSM I had responsibility for the integration of programs of instruction and training within all Infantry formations to include SBCT, IBCT and ABCT from the Squad to the BDE level. I have advised on the planning, coordinating, and managing of all actions within the Maneuver force. Throughout my tenure I worked closely with the Force Modernization and Combat Development Communities in evaluating and recommending equipment improvements pertaining to the Combat Arms Soldier. I routinely operated on broad policy statements and very general guidance and always rendered advice and or decisions/recommendations when needed.
