Participated in Aresty Summer Research program in Rutgers Material Science and Engineering, focusing on creating better thermal insulation for construction use by implementing aerogels- Learned the sol-gel process and how to fabricate aerogels and xerogels- Developed over 50 types of aerogel composites using different filler materials, spending 400 hours in the lab over the summer- Utilized different testing methods to evaluate the surface area, pore size, and hydrophobicity of novel aerogel composites- Communicated effective weekly project updates to faculty mentor and my Aresty student cohort- Wrote, created, and presented findings in a research poster at the Aresty Poster Symposium- Research findings presented by faculty mentor at the May 2024 Glass & Optical Materials Division Annual Meeting of the American Ceramic Society
