Chief Operating Officer at EAS Advisors LLC, a New York based corporate advisory firm supporting public and private companies operating in the mining, metals, energy, infrastructure and agriculture sectors with a strong focus on emerging markets.Prior to joining EAS I was the General Counsel at BalanTrove Partners, a New York based hedge fund with an emphasis on the materials, mining, energy and agriculture sectors. BalanTrove invested in public markets in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia and Japan. Before joining BalanTrove in July 2011, I was a Senior Associate in Baker & McKenzie\'s Energy, Mining and Infrastructure Group based in London. I advised clients on domestic and cross border public and private M&A, joint ventures, capital markets, project development and general corporate advice. Prior to joining Baker & McKenzie in London in April 2008, I worked for five years at Bowman Gilfillan, one of the leading law firms in South Africa, and was based in both their Johannesburg and London offices where I specialised in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and general corporate and construction work. I have acted on transactions spanning 6 continents in a variety of sectors but with a particular focus on emerging markets, particularly Sub-Saharan Africa, and the energy, mining and infrastructure sector.
