About Matthew Bernstein

I am a computational scientist excited by the challenge of transforming the world\'s vast and growing collections of high-dimensional genomics data into insights that drive progress in human health.Currently, I am Principal Machine Learning Scientist at Cellular Intelligence where I develop machine learning approaches for modeling cellular dynamics and deciphering the signaling patterns that control cellular differentiation in development.Prior to Cellular Intelligence, I was Staff Scientist, Machine Learning at Stellaromics where I developed computational and machine learning approaches for analyzing high-resolution, three-dimensional spatial transcriptomics data generated by Stellaromics’ novel spatial biology platform. I worked on core algorithms for converting raw, terabyte-scale bio-imaging data into spatial gene expression information.Prior to that, I was Principal Scientist at Immunitas Therapeutics where I built a computational platform for identifying novel drug targets in immuno-oncology using diverse single-cell RNA-seq and single-cell TCR-seq datasets. In addition, I designed computational approaches for identifying clinical biomarkers of drug efficacy emerging from the company\'s phase 1 clinical trial of IMT-009, a novel immune checkpoint inhibitor. My work identifying clinical biomarkers involved the integrated analysis of data from diverse assays including flow cytometry, NanoString nCounter, IHC, and multiplexed immunofluorescence.
