About Matthew Beehler

Matthew is a designer with International perspective, specializing in Environmental Design, Landscape, Planning and Urban Design. Matthew seeks an interplay between Art / Architecture and the Built Environment. Constant collaboration with artists, architects and passionate developers, Matthew seeks dynamic collaborative opportunities. A recipient of multiple private scholarships including a 4 month sojourn to Europe, South America and India, documenting some of the worlds most notable Urban Spaces and Natural Environments. Travel has always been considered his most precious teacher, participating in accredited International safaris to Africa, India, Canada, Mexico and South America. In 1992 touring by bicycle through New Zealand, Australia, Java, Malaysia, Sumatra, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong, Matthew and his wife landed in Singapore where they lived and worked. While in Singapore he was invited to be a visiting design critic with Malaysian University of Tecknologi, traveling into the Malaysian rain forests and coastal areas to conduct design workshops. In 2005 Matthew was recruited to develop a Landscape & Planning Studio with International Resort Designers WATG. He was appointed Director of Design / Planning, overseeing multiple billion dollar developments. During his 10 year tenure projects such as: KAEC / Saudi Arabia, Marassi and Uptown Cairo / North Africa, Sahl Hasheesh Resort / Red Sea. Numerous mixed-use developments in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Chengdu, Dalian & Inner Mongolia. In 2014 Matthew co-founded MEGA, a design firm specializing in urban developments, Matthew and his partner won competitions in Qatar, Tangiers Morocco, and Abu Dhabi. Their ability to bring real world expertise, a global perspective, to creatively craft a development program expressing the unique culture of place has become a trademark. In 2019 Matthew co-founded CBLD | eco, focused on business development, design and construction of high end Residential and Resort Design.Matthew\'s lifelong philosophy of holistic immersive education and learning through real world experiences set him apart from the crowd. Currently living and working in Southern California, Matthew has focused his energy on creating high end, high functioning environmentally appropriate residential designs.
