Currently seconded to United Utilities as a technical resource for project delivery- Project lead for the Mains Reinforcement Programme. Completed hydraulic needs assessments on a Water Supply Zone level to simulate the network impacts from the projected growth in the design areas- Supported the completion of initial designs for FY3 of the Mains Renewal Programme. Tasked with the model validation based on PDPW scenarios and produced the design specifications for sliplining non-preferred pipe materials to improve water quality and network resilience.

ABOUT MATTHEW BARTLEY MCIWEM C. WEM
I am a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager, currently working as a Principal Water Network Modeller with Stantec in the Clean Water Modelling team. I have gained approximately 11 years of experience in the clean water sector and been exposed to a variety of leakage data analysis, hydraulic modelling and field work management projects.My previous projects have been focused on network resilience, which required a detailed level of understanding to identify sections of the distribution network affected by proposed changes to assets and infrastructure. I have also assisted in GIS schematic maintenance, water quality sampling and logger deployment programmes.The skillsets developed through these projects include creation of network connectivity diagrams, water balance spreadsheets and progress trackers for the tasks completed. I have also produced detailed field test plans to effectively deliver site works for the client.Prior to my roles in the water industry, I studied for a BSc in Mathematics and then went on to study for a PGDip in Design & Manufacturing Engineering. I also completed a dissertation in mathematical modelling as part of my postgraduate qualification.
