As a Platform Data Engineer in Cybersecurity Sciences & Analytics, I design and deliver the data foundations that power decision-making across HSBC’s global cybersecurity organization. Key Achievements & Responsibilities • Data Engineering Excellence: • Built and maintained end-to-end data pipelines using Azure, Databricks, and Python, enabling secure, scalable, and efficient data delivery to every cybersecurity function. • Expert in data workflow orchestration — from ingestion to monitoring — ensuring high availability and rapid issue resolution. • Cybersecurity Data Enablement: • Partnered with all cybersecurity teams to provide timely, high-quality data that supports threat detection, incident response, and risk management. • Deep understanding of how data and cybersecurity intersect, bridging engineering with security intelligence. • Leadership & Project Management: • Acted as Project Manager for cross-functional initiatives — led stand-ups, coordinated production change requests, and managed a team of 10+ engineers. • Delivered projects on time and with improved operational efficiency, driving measurable impact across the department. • Data Quality Innovation: • Alongside my project management and data engineering roles, I am developed a data quality initiative, that automatically compares ingestion schedules against run times to identify and resolve pipeline delays. • Result: improved scheduling efficiency, reduced unnecessary compute usage, and enhanced data availability for stakeholders worldwide.
