ABOUT MATTEO FUMAGALLI
I am an Italian-qualified lawyer admitted to the Milan Bar, with proven experience in commercial and contract law, international arbitration and cross-border litigation. I currently serve as Contract Manager at Saipem, where I negotiate, draft and manage offshore drilling contracts, working at the intersection of legal risk and business strategy. Before moving in-house, I was an Associate at DLA Piper, successfully representing clients in commercial, energy, construction and corporate disputes before international arbitral tribunals and domestic courts. I also advised on economic sanctions matters. Alongside my professional role, I remain closely connected to the academic and arbitration community. I am a Research and Teaching Assistant in Contract Law (Prof. Delfini) at the University of Milan and a Coach for the University teams competing in the Vis Moot (commercial arbitration) and FIAMC (investment arbitration).
