ABOUT MONTESI MATTEO

I am an Italian fully qualified Architect born in 1986 I am a MSc graduate from the Politecnico di Milano, with specialization in Construction Architecture. In Milan I learnt and explored the importance of the relationship between spatial and cultural context and developed a strong taste for beauty and geometry of space. The main topic of my research in my education years, began from the study of historical heritage, and the importance of natural environments, on to sustainability and attention to building details, quality of construction and technology. Alongside my studies I have always pursued competitive swimming and professional lifesaving, which taught me constancy, discipline, endurance and the importance of work ethics. In lifesaving competitions I reached various important results, such as European and World champion titles. During my work experience years I collaborated with various architecture firms, taking part in international design competitions. In 2011 with Francesco Fallavollita I won the first prize at for the international design competition for AET\'s new Head Office Buildings in Montecarasso, Bellinzona, CH. For the past few years, from November 2011 until January 2013, I have been working on site with a construction company as assistant project manager and construction surveyor, for the new Basket Arena of Cantù, Como. I completed and coordinated many site surveys and supervised construction for substantial periods of time. I have practical experience in design from urban planning scale to technical detailing, with particular focus on sustainability and low cost construction. I have experienced both teamwork and leadership, and always excelled in my performance. I am ambitious and believe that achievements are gained through great ideas, hard work, and at times sacrifices.
