   My team and I are leading the push for Amazon One (AWS\' biometric identification service) into healthcare as a patient identification tool.Amazon One uses palm-based biometrics to verify identity with an unparalleled accuracy in less than a second. When integrated with a healthcare system\'s EHR, this authentication service is a powerful tool to deter fraud, reduce duplicate records, and increase efficiency of patient identification. According to a 2016 Ponemom Institute study, patient misidentification costs the average clinician 30 minutes per shift in wasted time and contributes to 35% of all medical claims being denied, resulting in an estimated $17.4M annual loss per hospital. Amazon One replaces manual record retrieval with an automated, biometric connection to the EHR, reducing the risk of incorrect or disparate patient records. As a healthcare Biz Dev Lead for AO, I am focused on forming our go to market strategy in healthcare, coordinating positioning for AO across AWS\' HCLS sales, BD, and marketing teams. In turn, I am taking our learnings from internal teams and customers in healthcare, and helping out product team mold AO into a stronger market fit.
