As Construction Manager for the Central Laser Facility’s EPAC (Extreme Photonics Applications Centre) Project, I lead the delivery of one of the UK’s most advanced scientific infrastructure developments. My role bridges the technical demands of construction with the pioneering research needs of scientists and engineers.Key responsibilities include:Directing on-site construction activities, ensuring alignment with complex engineering and scientific specificationsCoordinating multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, internal stakeholders, and external suppliersOverseeing budget, scheduling, compliance, and risk management from inception through to commissioningActing as the primary point of contact between the construction delivery team and the in-house experts across engineering and laser science disciplinesChampioning quality assurance and safety protocols to maintain the highest operational standards
