A few years ago I met Roberto Cipresso, an Italian winemaker best known for his namesake Brunello di Montalcino and his incredibly successful Argentine Malbec projects including Achaval Ferrer and Matervini. We hit it off. The next several years are the story of us finding incredible sites in California\'s central coast producing Pinot Noir grapes of character and distinction, and crafting the most expressive wines from these unique places.\"Heroic\" viticulture embraces the idea that the vine should be challenged, and that grapes which are produced in challenging conditions can yield a wine that defies your expectations. In our wines, we have sought to create wines which are uniquely of the place and which are profoundly moving.
