Matt Averi co-founded AveriStar in 2007 and serves as Chief Technology Officer. A 25 year veteran of technology, Matt oversees all engineering projects, platform migrations and technical direction for AveriStar. Earlier in his career, Matt worked for Wandel and Goltermann as a sytems engineer specializing in SONET and SDH fiber optic networks. This experience led him to a systems architect position with Lucent Technologies. While at Lucent, Matt worked with a select team to design and deploy the South American Crossing, a 40 GB sub-sea DWDM ring connecting most countries on the continent. Matt’s experience as a senior systems engineer at BroadSoft, however, is what laid the foundation for AveriStar becoming the leading experts in BroadWorks based voice networks.Matt is a former United States Marine who specialized in radio communications and holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology from The Penn State University. Matt lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife and family and also plays drums in a local classic rock band.
