the first memory of the construction trade. At 4 years old our owner, Matt, watched his father Malcom build what was his childhood home on 87 acres near Seneca, MO. His father showed him what craftsmanship looked like. Frequently with his father on job sites during childhood, Matt was cleaning up or “helping”. Malcom built many high end homes in Joplin and in the surrounding communities over the years under the name MY Construction. However, Matt had another career path in mind and spent many years in retail management and also advertising. His dream has always been to own his own company just like his father that he holds in very high regard.Fast forward to recent times, Matt spent a few years with a great local company getting back into the construction field. The time spent taught him a great deal about what it takes to run a successful company. With a great desire to pursue his dream of owning his own business and with his father coming back to the trade, the decision was made to resurrect MY Construction. With a passion for the trade, loving to help people take their wants into reality, along with having the guidance and support of his family and friends Matt is excited to start this new chapter.
