   Matt Williamson is a litigation partner in Manatt’s Orange County office whose practice focuses on environmental matters and white collar criminal defense.Matt’s white collar practice includes the representation of clients in connection with all phases of governmental investigations, criminal jury trials, quasi-criminal and regulatory matters, as well as conducting internal investigations of corporate clients following allegations of misconduct. Matt has handled matters involving allegations of antitrust violations, unfair competition, financial and securities fraud, healthcare fraud, environmental violations, public corruption and RICO violations.Matt also has extensive experience advising clients on matters relating to compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations. Matt’s environmental experience includes the representation of clients in litigation, administrative proceedings, enforcement actions and in the regulatory compliance context. In this capacity, Matt has worked with clients on matters involving hazardous waste, water, clean air FIFRA/pesticides, Prop 65 and natural resources, among others. In particular, Matt regularly represents retail clients in jurisdictions across the United States facing enforcement actions related to their hazardous waste handling practices and works with such clients to implement effective corporate hazardous waste compliance programs.In addition to his criminal and environmental work, Matt has represented clients in a wide variety of complex civil litigation matters, including disputes involving employment law (wage and hour class actions, wrongful termination and labor law violations), product liability and mass tort litigation (medical device product liability class actions, environmental contamination class actions and other complex tort litigation), and securities litigation (shareholder lawsuits and M&A litigation).
