ABOUT MATT STEWART
Student attention has become a public-health issue for schools.I’m campaigning alongside teachers, MAT leaders, parents, and education groups to push for practical, fair ways schools can protect focus without burning out staff or punishing students. This isn’t about nostalgia or blaming young people, it’s about recognising how phones, apps, and incentives have changed, and helping schools respond with systems that actually hold up in real corridors and classrooms.My background in Economics with Innovation and my work with early-stage startups taught me how change spreads: clear rules, community backing, and solutions that scale across organisations. I’m using that approach to help MATs and schools design attention policies, roll them out with staff buy-in, and bring parents and campaigners into the conversation so change lasts.What I’m doing now:• Working with MAT leaders and headteachers on scalable attention & phone policies• Supporting teacher and parent groups campaigning for healthier tech habits• Sharing research and real-school case studies to move the debate forwardIf you’re leading a MAT, school, or campaign and want to compare notes or collaborate, message me.
