About Matt Tomko
I am no stranger to the pains of test and evaluation – both mentally and physically. Diving into a freezing river in Pittsburgh during the month of February to rescue a critical piece of a prototype that had fallen off, and then trying to diagnose the issue, has lead me to have a deeper appreciation of the value that quality physics-based simulation provides. Digital Transformation and Digital Engineering aren’t just buzz words that the DoD and A&D industry are using – they are essential undertakings to improve safety and innovation, mitigate risk, and ensure mission success all at a reduced cost and increased speed to make proper use of tax-payer (or corporate) money.Digital Transformation and Digital Engineering do not replace the engineer, but makes them a better engineer by maximizing their skills and knowledge.Experience at Ansys Government Initiatives (AGI):AGI has allowed me to develop as a sales professional by providing the forum and mechanisms for me to utilize and build upon my interests, talents, and skills – relationship building, creative problem solving, leadership, and vision conceptualization and execution. I have a genuine appreciation for my customers, seeking to develop a relationship with them on a personal and professional level, and taking an interest in helping them achieve their individual and corporate successes. By aligning great engineering solutions with great minds, I work closely with my customers to pursue, capture, and execute on programs. With Digital Transformation and Engineering, I am able to leverage my experiences in engineering, R&D, product development, as well as my desire to help, connect with, and transform those around me to think outside the box, innovate, and develop amazing solutions that can change the world and keep the world safe.Let’s in Mechanical Engineering: The Ohio State University, research in a Gas Turbine Laboratory, Written Thesis-\"Impact of Purge Flow Variation on Rotor Cavity and Blade Platform Pressure For a Transonic High-Pressure Turbine\".B.S. in Mechanical Engineering: The University of Pittsburgh
