I am working in an embedded position as a Mental Performance Specialist with the Pueblo Police Department. My duties include one on one consultations, educational briefs, and observation of trainings with active police ranging from Police Academy cadets to tenured, veteran officers. The main focus of my role is to train a safer, more accurate, and more resilient police officer that is more responsive than reactive. Training active police through performance enhancement techniques such as stress management, mindfulness, visualization, arousal regulation, and effective communication. My position works closely with Police Department leadership to give constructive feedback from myself while working in tandem with dieticians, strength coaches, and athletic trainers to deliver a holistic approach to a healthier, more resilient police officer across SWAT, bomb squad, and negotiation teams.
