ABOUT MATT STEVENSON

Applications Engineering Manager with nearly 20 years of experience in delivering high-impact automation and robotics solutions across pharma, medical device, electronics, and packaged food and drink industries. I lead the development of machine concepts, project budgets, and timing plans that help turn complex customer needs into efficient, scalable systems.At SP Automation and Robotics, we specialise in custom automation. Every solution we deliver is tailored, whether starting from a clean sheet or modifying standard platforms. In 40 years, we’ve never failed to deliver a project, and I’m proud to help carry that legacy forward.My role bridges engineering and strategy. I work at the front end of every major project, designing systems that drive value from the outset, from early concept development to detailed proposals and presentations that help convert opportunities into long-term client partnerships.Key achievements include- Concept development for the UK’s first multi-track Beckhoff XTS system, designed for high-speed inhaler labelling- Lead development engineer for a smoke detector assembly machine that has produced over 20 million units to date.We support clients internationally, with systems commissioned across Europe and the US. Whether it’s high-speed assembly, vision-based inspection, packaging, or end-of-line automation, I focus on solutions that are technically sound, commercially viable, and built to last.
