ABOUT MATT STEPHENS
I am a fierce fighter for the education and rehabilitation of our offenders, and, a strong advocate for mandatory (12 month) transitional reentry.I am an individual in longterm life recovery overcoming my own obstacles which drives my career. I am an alumni of several advanced addiction treatment programs, including, both; The Betty Ford Clinic in Rancho Mirage, California, and, The Hazelden Institute in Center City, Minnesota. I am also an alumni of The C.E.D.U. Educational System in Palm Springs, California.My career and skills are derived from my lived experiences at instant decision making, and, critical thinking in hostile and chaotic environments. I am experienced in working with various administrative and field offices within our Judiciary Governments, primarily in the Restorative Justice arena.My skills include; decoding recidivism, life recovery coaching, offender reentry, career counseling, addiction recovery counseling, public speaking, restorative Justice facilitating, motivational interviewing therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance commitment therapy. I am a career learner, and, seasoned facilitator of evidence based practices,(EBP).
