About Matt Stannard
Teaching people to be advocates has been the through‑line of my career. I’ve coached national and regional debate champions, advised and directed political campaigns, advocated for and counseled trauma survivors and incarcerated individuals, supported Indigenous land‑rights litigation in Kenya, and worked with debaters across the U.S, Korea, Canada, China, and Iraq. Across all of it, my focus has been the same: helping people find their voices and their arguments, and use persuasion cooperatively, as a tool for making their communities better.
