Charismatic and people-focussed leader offering over 20 years of success in a diverse range of engineering programmes, using a combination of entrepreneurial spirit, emotional intelligence, a flair for innovation, and team building skills.Development is a team sport. There are no places for a ‘genius arsehole’ in great teams, and in my opinion enthusiasm, communication, empathy and humility are just as vital as killer computer skills. In my roles as Head of Engineering and CTO, I’ve been less the football manager barking orders from the sidelines, more that broom guy on a curling team, frantically sweeping the ice to make sure things keep moving in the right direction. My main concern is keeping a team chugging along as merrily as possible. Because a merrily chugging team of developers will be the one that has the energy and hunger to grow, innovate and - well - develop as we move to the future.
