Ithica is a boutique, independent film production company delivering around 100–120 projects each year for clients with complex requirements, often in technical and regulated environments.As Creative Director, I lead work from concept through to delivery - shaping ideas, building teams, and ensuring calm, consistent production across a wide range of films.Our projects span corporate, documentary, educational and promotional work, with particular depth in Offshore Wind and the wider energy supply chain.Based in Teesside and Glasgow, we now work across the UK, supporting organisations that value clear thinking, high standards, and long-term trust.

ABOUT MATT MCGOUGH
I’m Creative Director at Ithica, an independent film production company delivering around 100-120 projects each year for high-value clients with complex requirements.Our work spans corporate, documentary, educational and promotional film - with a particular depth in Offshore Wind and its wider supply chain, where production often involves specialist environments, technical stakeholders, and demanding operational constraints.Over the past two decades, I’ve led projects from early concept through to post, balancing creative ambition with the practical realities of time, budget, and delivery. Ithica’s work has been recognised with awards including the RTS Centre Award, and I continue to maintain hands-on technical capability across production and specialist filming.I hold GWO certifications and a CAA drone licence, supporting work in regulated and safety-critical settings.Alongside Ithica, I co-founded Second Unit Ltd, a small advisory practice supporting creative startups and businesses with operational foundations, back-office clarity, and occasional turnaround support.I’m happiest when the work is well made, well run, and built to last - with a camera nearby, or an idea taking shape.
