I am a partner in KPMG’s Minneapolis Business Tax Services Stategic Corporate Practice. I have been a tax advisor for more than 20 years serving multistate and multinational companies with complex U.S, state, and international tax matters including leaders in the retail, manufacturing, medical technology, as well as the banking and finance industries, from Fortune 500 public companies to startup entities. From 2009 to 2011, I served as a Senior Tax Manager KPMG UK’s U.S. practice.Specialties: I have provided global tax managed services for the federal, state and international income tax compliance, including assistance with ASC 740 accounting, transaction analysis, accounting methods, and federal and state controversy matters. I have assisted audit and tax clients in aspects of ASC 740, Financial Accounting for Income Taxes, and related FIN 48, SEC reporting, and SOX 404 controls for tax. I have advised clients with respect to inbound and outbound U.S. international taxation, including structuring cross-border transfers and acquisitions including tax due diligence assistance, U.S. deferral and foreign tax regimes, and the application of U.S. tax treaties. I have advised clients on U.S. inbound financing structuring and implementation. I have worked on structuring and managing multi jurisdictional transactions acquisitions for U.S. investors in Private Equity funds and U.S. target companies and has experience running a deal (tax issues, coordination and review of tax aspects in relevant jurisdictions) from inception to post closing.
