About Matt Laud
TL;DR:• Motion Graphics specialist with 8 years’ experience and dynamite client list• NYU Tisch MFA in film and television• Editor for projects by Academy Award winner and others, laurels from TIFF and SXSW + more• Producer / Director, laurels from Austin Film Festival + more• Post Production Supervisor for shorts and featuresI’m a filmmaker, editor, and motion designer with a focus on sharp, visual storytelling. I’ve worked across comedy, drama, documentary, and branded content — producing projects from scratch, directing on set, and supervising in post - whatever it takes to get the project done. Currently I’m an editor/animator at Conair LLC, producing content for consumer brands across digital and retail platforms. Before that, I delivered motion graphics for national campaigns with clients like Visa, Ford, The NFL, Nespresso, and Barnes & Noble.Outside of motion graphics, I’m a filmmaker and movie obsessive. I earned my MFA in Film & TV from NYU Tisch, where I directed shorts, spec commercials, and wrote a feature-length horror comedy. Since then, I’ve directed a doc about the opioid crisis for the New York Department of Health, edited a short that played TIFF and SXSW last year, and supervised post on a feature doc with an Academy Award-winning filmmaker. I also write and direct comedy — with festival credits including the Austin Film Festival and others across the country.I’m currently exploring new roles that let me take on more creative leadership — directing, producing, writing, or post supervision — in agency settings, in-house teams, and production companies working on branded, documentary or narrative content. I’m equally comfortable leading projects hands-on or supporting a director’s vision in post.Collaborators will tell you I’m committed to excellence in the final product — and I bring a good attitude to the process. I pay attention to detail, and I pay attention to people. I believe good pre-pro makes good productions. I believe in delivering great work, every time, no matter the client. And most of all, I love what I do — and I think you can feel that in my work. Teams do their best when they’re passionate about the process. For me, that’s the highest form of creative professionalism: great people working together to pull off the impossible.
