Matt is the Managing Member & Founder of Backshore Asset Management, a Registered Investment Advisory firm headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area offering niche options related advisory and sub-advisory services to RIAs, individuals, corporations, foundations, non-profits, and institutions. Matt has three decades of experience advising and sub-advising options related portfolios for advisors, individuals, foundations, non-profits, insurance companies and corporations. Previously, Matt co-founded and grew a Palo Alto, California based RIA gathering more than a billion dollars and becoming one of the fastest growing Inc 100 companies. Matt has led trading teams, managed assets for thousands of clients, appeared dozens of times on financial media such as CNBC, Bloomberg, MarketWatch as well as hundreds of times in print media including Barrons, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and the Associated Press. While Portfolio Manager of three 1940 Act public mutual funds, Matt traded more than a million options contracts in both bull and bear markets.
