Working with major donors to encourage and steward their charitable giving in support of waterfowl and wetland conservation. Ducks Unlimited initiatives and programs support wetlands, water quality, and life for more than 900 species of animals, across the North American Continent, that depend on clean water and wetland habitat for their survival. Together with event fundraising staff and volunteers, we raise awareness of DU’s major gift program and increase major gift revenue in the region. DU members and major donors are the bedrock of support for this enormous undertaking. Our efforts have resulted in the protection and or improvement of nearly 16 million acres of that critical habitat ranging from norther Canada to southern Mexico.My role as solicitor and steward put me in a unique position to guide donors in making the most out of their charitable gifting with current matching opportunities that can multiply their donations by as much as six-fold.Our efforts result in funding for scientists, engineers, capital equipment, infrastructure, and boots on the ground for DU’s habitat conservation priorities that support DU’s Strategic Plan, to include support for operations, conservation in key landscapes, educational programs and DU’s endowment.
