Over 27 years experience in the brewing industry. As Product Portfolio Manager, I am responsible for building an efficient, balanced, and profitable product portfolio that advances the company’s strategic mission to be the Indispensable Partner in Craft Beverage. I manage key categories (Hops and Yeast) as well as lead other product managers to ensure the core product segments for BSG are healthy and positioned for growth in revenue and profitable contribution As a Technical Brewing Consultant I have helped John Fearless Co. set up their malt distribution for Muntons Malts in California. I have helped with the technical aspects of foreign and domestic hop selection and pelletizing for John Fearless Co. I continue to help and act as a brewer liaison for John Fearless customers As Brewmaster I manage all aspects of brewing production and operations in the main brewing facility and multiple brewpub brewing facilities. I lead the strategy, staffing, production, safety and quality of Karl Strauss\' award winning beers. I have brewed with and built breweries from 7bbl to 60bbl. Experienced in all aspects of the brewing process including recipe formulation and scale up, equipment installation, brewery equipment start up and production management. Part of a team that is building a new 120 bbl production brewery in San Diego. I have supervised the update and building of 6 Brewery Restaurants for Karl Strauss. I am part of the Hop Research Council, Hop Quality Control Group, the Sub-Committee on Public Hop Breeding Program and the B.A Brewpub Committee. Currently a GABF and World Beer Cup competition judge, member of the advisory board for the UC San Diego brewing progam, brewery start-up consultant and was and instructor for homebrewing at Saddleback Community College. Lead a brewing team that won the 2016 Mid-size Brewery of the year and Mid-Size Brewer of the year at the Great American Beer Festival.
