About Matt Johan

I’m a design executive with deep experience leading UX organizations across complex, operational products at Amazon. My work sits at the intersection of human-centered design, platform thinking, and emerging technology, with a focus on creating durable systems and experiences that scale across large, distributed businesses.I currently lead UX strategy and execution for digital experiences across Amazon’s global transportation network, supporting shippers, drivers, operators, delivery partners, and associates across millions of interactions daily. My scope spans customer and operator-facing experiences, shared associate platforms, centralized DesignOps, and a world-class design system. I partner closely with product, engineering, and executive leadership to steward work from strategy through production and real-world use.A core theme of my leadership has been shifting organizations from output and requirements-driven delivery toward customer experience outcomes (CXOs) as a shared measure of success across design, product, and engineering. I’m particularly interested in how platforms, design systems, and AI-enabled workflows can improve quality, velocity, and alignment at scale — helping teams spend less time reinventing solutions and more time solving meaningful problems and innovating on behalf of customers.Earlier in my career, I held roles across design, program management, and delivery leadership in agency, in-house, and product organizations, which continues to inform how I lead cross-functional teams today.
